'Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.' - Coco Chanel

Prosthetic Culture
Prosthetic Culture in my opinion is an advantage. People with disabilities have difficulty to adapt their self in the world. Only the thought that i couldn't do something that i want is terrifying me. The prosthetic culture give you an opportunity to be whoever you want to be without difficulties. Personally i admire people with disabilities because you want a lot of courage to fight with yourself and the world everyday, to break the stereotypes find another way to be what you want to be.
Prosthetic Culture gives hope to people for a better world, motivate them. It's a real inspiration..

What is ‘MY Culture’?
My culture..
I like to describe myself as an artist. Fashion for me is an art that includes all the types of arts. I have a passion for fashion that is hard to restrict, i have so many ideas, so many things that i want to create, so many things that i want to change, so many themes that i just want to shout my opinion with my way in terms of fashion.. I don't know yet where i will be in the future but i know myself. I don't want to create garments for rich ladies or sell my name, i want my creations to have an attitude, to make a loud statement.

Do We Live in a Post‐Feminist Age?
What are the most important issues for artists, designers and media practitioners interested in gender politics to address in 2014?
Artists, designers and media practitioners interested are realising how fast everything changing. Our generation is very different from all the other generations. In nowadays for the most people their priority is to have a career not a marriage. The thing is that if you want to have a success career you must delay some things like marriage, relationships, family and e.t.c. You can't have a lot of time for yourself so everything around you must move fast.
Artists, designers and media practitioners interested have an open mind. They don't stick in stereotypes or tradition. Their job is to move forward to fight for a better world were everyone have the same rights.

Stereotypes
1.Central Quotation. Quote a sentence (or experts from linked sentences) from the text that you think is central to the author's implicit or explicit argument(s). Always site the page.
3)…culture depends on giving things meanings by assigning them to different positions within a classificatory system. The marking of difference is the basis of that symbolic order we call culture

2. Argument. In no more than 3 sentences, state the author's explicit or implicit argument. Be sure to include both: what the author is arguing for and what s/he is arguing against.
The author is arguing for the word difference. The word that symbolise who we are, what we are, where we are from and e.t.c, but s/he is arguing against all the kind of racism. We must have the ability to recognize our differences but not to criticize them.
3.Question. Raise a question that you think is not fully, or satisfactorily, answered by the text. The question should be a question interpretation or of inquiry, not simply a question or fact.
Does images really break the stereotypes or not?
4. Experiential Connection. Say, in a few lines only, how the argument confirms or contradicts your own experience or common sense.
I fully agree with the author. We must be able to recognise our differences but not to criticism them. Everyone must be proud for who they are and no one has the right to make them feel bad for their self.
5. Apply To Imagery. How does the reading help you to make sense of the images?
Reading helps us to communicate with the author and see exactly what s/he see in the picture, so we will be able to create a full opinion about a theme and see outside the box.

Alexander Hitek
Alexander Hitek
By Georgia Nikolaou
Alexander Hitek
gave us an amazing lecture full of passion and knowledge. He is a remarkable
person in loved with for his work and even he is a milliner now he exist to be
a casual human been. In exception with many other successful fashion designers
he wants to transfer his personal experience and mistakes to us so we can learn
from him.
Alexander start from a young age trying to
make a difference and all his history start from his kitchen. He haven’t got
any money but because of his talent many people invested on him. He used to
take rubbish and makes them into something different and beautiful so he
invented his own trend, steampunk. Alex trek or the father of steampunk, today
is one of the most known people international but he revealed us that in his
heart belong in his country, Cyprus, even if he grew abroad. My personal
opinion is that his work is amazing, unusual and worth all these money. It’s
inspired you to take something complicate but simple and make it practical, to
see the world needs, the prepuce, the facts and cover all this with simplicity.
He gave us a lot of useful advises like how to work, how to get
inspired and how be original. The passion and the tension in the way he talked
it was really inspired. He told us to turn the books upside down, to study
things from all their side and take the most uncommon side and turned it to an
outfit, to make a statement with our designs covering in the same time the need
of the world. He taught us how to be original and protect our job designing illustrations
and take copyrights for proof, keep our best designs and the right time invested
on them and rent never sell outfits in famous people because after their death
those designs take a huge value into auctions. Also the key to success is to be part of a
small group, five stranger people everyone with a deference talent and create a
company.
The most important thing that taught us this presentation was to have
our eyes open and be inspired from the nature, the art, museums, statuary, to
follow the music and the shadows of our history roots. Also he told us to
observe what people wear and follow the trend that in nowadays is alternative
and street fashion.
The whole
presentation was very interesting and helpful. Alexander firstly told us about
his life and the start of his career presenting to us one of his early designs
saying: ‘your first garment would defined if you are talented or not’. After
that he presented to us one of their last pieces, the patch, which has a more
practical use. Also he show us his famous ‘telephone bags’ and some hats that
he designs. As he talk to us about his career, life, mistakes, obsessions and
success, he let us ask questions, and take part in his presentation making us
want more of him.
